hi, i’m madeline castleberry, but you can call me maddy!
my journey started on the cross country course and track, where i spent six years competing at the division i level. what began as a pursuit of athletic excellence evolved into a passion for digital media.
now, as the social media manager for heartbreak hill running company, i channel that same competitive energy into digital marketing — planning and producing short-form, vertical content that brings our audience closer to the magic of the heartbreak community across the country. alongside world-class brands and athletes, we tell stories that capture what it truly means to risk it all.
i blend creativity and strategy to help running take up space in mainstream media and turn audiences into meaningful communities.

outside of my work at @heartbreak.run, i use my own platforms to tell my story, celebrate the sport, and connect with the running community.
i love fashion, charli xcx, and logging every movie i watch on letterboxd. i paint here and there, and honestly, any time i’m not editing videos on my phone, i’m finding new ways to express my creativity in different shapes and forms.
i’m always learning something new (currently sharpening my sewing skills) and refining the ones i already have.
have fun.
make cool sh*t.
endorsement
“Maddy displayed a work ethic and determination that was almost unrivaled. In her sport, she walked on to the team as an unheralded high school runner who quite frankly didn’t stack up against many of her more competitive peers. That did not stop Maddy from having big goals, and more importantly, putting the work in to achieve them.
Thanks to tremendous dedication, she made steady progress moving all the way up to one of the best runners on the team, and in the conference. I can’t emphasize enough how difficult it is to make that large of a jump in performance. I’m explaining this because I think it demonstrates Maddy’s work ethic, determination, and more importantly her character.
“She accomplished amazing athletic feats, but did so with optimism and enthusiasm. Setting an example for the rest of her teammates, and lifting them up along the way. She has helped raise the level of performance for her teammates, demonstrating an ability to lead others.”
